Spring 2005
Sale
Report-Spring 2005
A standing room only crowd actively bid
on the 93 bulls offered by PBG members. Quality ran very deep and
several bulls found new homes at other seedstock operations. As
one first-time attendant noted, "the offering was very good as there
wasn't a bad bull in the sale".
Miller/Lawman bulls were very
affordable as six bulls averaged $2117. Topping their offering
was a son of Bennett K503 at $3300. This Balancer bull was the
co-top selling bull.

Report-Fall 2005
The overflowing
crowd showed their support for the quality bulls consigned by PBG members for a
$2470 average. Miller/Lawman bulls grossed $27,800 for an average of
$2317. Topping the sale for Miller/Lawman was Lot 45 going to a repeat
buyer for $3800. Sired by the popular Daume Designed Derivative with a dam
by the great female maker, Mr. Longevity, this bull was a crowd favorite and
tied as the second high selling bull of the sale.
EPDs of the SimAngus
cannot be compared to the Gelbviehs and Balancers as they are computed in
different databases.
The Gelbvieh bulls
have explosive performance. They are the perfect compliment on Angus-based
cows.
The Balancer bulls
add a new dimension with more carcass value and ease of use in a crossbreeding
program. The 1052 bull smashed the scales at almost 1700 lb!
The SimAngus bulls
are backed by several of the top bulls in the breed with more usable milk
genetics. The 1049 bull is very photogenic; you will not be disappointed
in his structure and conformation.
